Monterey Bay Aquarium with Linda Lee Kane

I love the coast, I love the ocean, and what better way to learn more about it than by volunteering at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. What an opportunity. The classes that were held taught us so much about the sea and all the beautiful creatures that reside.

On my first day as a volunteer I saw a blue whale. These animals are massive and so majestic. I found out that long ago that Monterey Bay was fished out, the sea anenome were done, the otters were gone. Many people gathered and helped to fund the revitalization of the bay and boy, were they successful.

Now you can take your family and see otters, blue whales, killer whales, gray whales, the bay is now brimming with life. I was so lucky to be chosen as a docent, I'll never forget the people that work so hard to help keep our oceans clean and safe for my children, and my children's children to see. If you're ever in Monterey, California go to the aquarium, you won't be disappointed.

Death on the Vine

Just before high school graduation, Daisy Murphy returns home from a football game and finds her mother standing over her abusive boyfriend’s body—holding a bloody hammer. In the aftermath, Daisy flees her home and eventually establishes a new life as an expert winemaker in the Central Valley of California. But as hard as she tries to get away from her past, the effects of that horrible night travel with her.

Detective Jake Frisco has unearthed a murder at the vineyard where Daisy is employed as the winery’s expert winemaker. It doesn’t take long to discover that Daisy is haunted by her past and carries a heavy burden. It seems that possible involvement in an unsolved murder is part of her life’s baggage. Does this put Daisy at the top of the suspect’s list? Can he put aside his growing feelings for her and follow the leads in the case, even if they take him straight to her as the murderer?

Can Daisy finally face her past and trust that the truth she offers the Detective will be enough to save her? Will she find the courage to ask for a future beyond the sorrow of her youth—a future filled with love and self-worth?

  7. Hi,
Thank you for the best wishes on my book. Yes, volunteer. I've volunteered at a zoo, which was incredible and yes, the aquarium. My favorite species is the octopus. They are incredibly intelligent.

  8. Monterey is where John Steinbeck wrote his books. They have a museum of his works there, and a special day set aside for him to celebrate his aachievements.

I put out a children's book and Death on the Vine at the same time. There was lots of tweeks that took place and lots of editing. I can honestly say now I'm ecstatic about both of them.
