We’d visited Wyoming and South Dakota a few years back, so it only made sense to head north. We arrived in Missoula. The next day we headed for Whitefish, Mt, a cute and trendy kind of town, then on to Glacier National Park where we spent two of the most wonderful days of our lives sightseeing and hiking. We spent one very long driving day through the grassland and prairies of Montana, stayed the night in Glasgow, MT (I bet you didn’t know Glasgow existed in MT) then on to North Dakota. After two days we came back to Billings, Montana for two days.
I hope you enjoy this little taste of Montana. I’m smiling remembering the gorgeous views.
They call Montana the Big Sky state for a good reason.
Glacier National Park is a true gem.
Can you say buffalo? (and more)
Wild, wild horses…
University of Montana in Missoula is a great place to study – we had to watch out for the wild bicyclists around this lovely lake.
I would go back to Montana in a heartbeat because there is so much more to see of the Treasure State.

Lynne Marshall has a new book out this month:
Her Baby, His Love
All Taylor Clark ever wanted was a normal life and a traditional family, but so far she’s had neither. Soon after discovering that her boyfriend was secretly engaged and she moves to Charity, Montana for a fresh start, she realizes she’s pregnant. As her new friendly and sexy landlord helps her settle in, they become friends, although Taylor has to keep reminding herself to keep her distance. The last thing she needs is to start something new.
As an ex-con, Joe Collins knows a little something about fresh starts. Despite his determination to keep his head down, he can’t ignore Taylor’s natural beauty or obvious vulnerability. In short time, a tentative friendship blooms along with something more precious—trust.
When Taylor’s ex comes to town, he threatens everything that Joe and Taylor have built together. Joe steps up to care for and protect her, even though he risks losing more than the woman he loves.
Such wonderful photographs, Glacier National Park is amazing!
ReplyDeleteLynn’s new book sounds great, and I love the cover.
Montana sounds wonderful destination dear friend!
ReplyDeleteGlacier National s something worth visiting at least once in life.
I am glad this time you give us glimpse of breathtaking sights of north
Hello...thank you for coming over to my blog again. Beautiful pictures. Never been to Montana but would love to go. So open and wide, and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has cousins that live in Great Falls, MT that we would love to visit someday. Beautiful photos, I love the rainbow one.
ReplyDeleteIf it just weren't so darned cold in the winter, I'd live there. Beautiful open space, and those skies are amazing.
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara - We live in California where there are many gorgeous places to visit - the Redwoods, Yosemite, etc, but my husband and I agreed that Glacier National Park was even more beautiful. I could have shared a hundred pictures! lol Oh, and I love that book cover, too. Thanks for reading the blog.
ReplyDeleteHello Shabana! I would love to share Glacier National Park with anyone who loves nature and beauty. We live in such a beautiful world, don't we?
ReplyDeletePam - there is a reason so many movies and books are set in the Big Sky State. It truly is gorgeous. Tough weather to deal with much of the year though.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen - after an incredible day of sight seeing, we were blessed with the gorgeous rainbow. By all means go visit your cousins!!!
ReplyDeleteC. Lee - so true, we were there in August, and in Glacier National park the temps ranged from warm to really cold in the higher elevations. A person would have to be a hardy soul to live there, something this California native is not. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful state. I love the horses. We'd edged into Montana via Yellowstone many years ago but never went any further north. I'd love to go back and see Montana and the Badlands of the Dakotas.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful post! I love those pictures; Montana looks so beautiful! It's on my list of places to visit, as well. I'm glad you had such a great time! :-)

I worked in Montana for a summer--West Yellowstone. It's such beautiful country, but WAY too cold. Brr! No offense, Montana, but I don't like snow on June mornings. That's just not cool. Or maybe it's too cool.
ReplyDeleteThe Montana views are stunning! I've driven through but never gone just for a vacation. I do love reading books set in Montana, though!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos--I'd like to spend more time in Montana. I've driven across the state, took the train across it, and spent a week in the early 90s backpacking in the Beartooth Wilderness (it was an incredible trip).
ReplyDeleteMy husband's mother is from Montana. Beautiful place. Loved Glacier...it's so perfect it doesn't seem real.
ReplyDeleteHi L. Diane - I would love to go back and visit Montana again too. I've never been to the Badlands, and would also like to visit there. such beautiful and rugged country up that way. thanks for reading the blog!
ReplyDeleteMckenzie, I'm thrilled you enjoyed the pictures and blog. I think I left a part of my heart in Montana. ;)
ReplyDeleteDeniz - I hope you can venture farther west in future travels. There is much to see in the Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming areas. Great country to see.
ReplyDeleteThank you Darla - happy writing to you, too.
ReplyDeleteCrystal - I hear you on the too cold part. Only rugged, hardy people can live there. I love visiting, though!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna - you and many other readers seem to love books set in Montana. It's an easy setting to imagine and fall in love with. Glad you enjoyed the views.
ReplyDeleteSage, Montana is the perfect place to backpack. However, the bear issue is a big one! Glad your trip was safe. Go again and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth - I agree about the perfection of Glacier - unfortunately it started out loooong ago with 184 glaciers, I believe there are only 24 or 25 left, and they are growing smaller and smaller. ;(
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- I need to get to Montana! I loved looking through these pictures. Stunning views. I also love animals- especially horses, so it looks like there are a lot of animals to see there too. Thanks so much for sharing this special state with us. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jess!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading the blog and commenting. One of the things I loved most about Montana was seeing horses in wide-open-spaces, running free. Loved it!
I'd love to see Montana. I imagine it would be big. Your pictures are lovely. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry - First off, thanks for visiting the blog. I hope you get a chance to visit Montana some day. So glad you enjoyed the pictures.
ReplyDeleteUtterly beautiful, I am coming to America for a wee holiday in 6 weeks, not here though. Looks beautiful, I will be putting piccys on my instagram. Do you have an insta account?

I'll have to admit, Montana is not a place I'd think to visit. I would strongly reconsider that now. As for Big Sky, Big Sky Brewing is one of my favorite beer brands. Very good stuff!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post and gorgeous pictures! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreetings from London.
Hi Lainy! I wish you Bon Voyage on your trip to America. I hope you have a fabulous time. I don't have an Instagram account. I am Luddite!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have changed (or at least opened) your mind about visiting Montana. Ah, yes, beer! I'm going to have to try that beer.
ReplyDeleteHello Cuban in London - so glad you enjoyed the post and pictures. Sincere greetings back at you!
