Ruakaka is beach-side settlement ninety minutes north of Auckland. We built a batch two minutes walk from the beach in 2007 and enjoyed all our family holidays there for six years. The beach at Ruakaka is a stunning, 40km long white sand surf

beach. The area has several nice cafes, a motel and a small shopping centre. The city of Whangarei is only half-an-hour north.
To enjoy the true kiwi holiday experience, it pays to check websites like Book-a-Batch where you can hire a holiday house.
The slower pace and long, hot summers make Ruakaka the perfect place to get away from the city and it's so close that you can go for the weekend.
