While we were in Cairns we decided to do a trip to Port Douglas. So we rented a car and searched for Port Douglas on my Samsung Phone’s map app and followed it through. Port Douglas is a town on the Coral Sea in the tropical far north of Queensland, Australia. There’s so much to see. Daintree National Park is home to biodiverse rainforest. And also to see the Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest reef system. I saw tours and trips advertised by the sidewalk for both. And there are many beach resorts around for your accommodation.
The drive is very pleasant, curving around the hills at one side and sea on the other. It takes one hour only to reach.
The enchanting township of Port Douglas is beautiful. There’s only one main street going through with shops on either side. This street is lined with shops, cafes, pubs and a quaint bookshop café. Yes, I actually saw a bookshop café!
We stopped for lunch and had pizza at the local pub.
