One of our favorite trips, pre-pandemic, was a road trip up the Oregon Coast. It’s a two-day drive from where we live and we only had a week to do it, which we thought would be lots of time, but alas, it was not! We want to go back.
We enjoyed Hood River and Bend, then spend almost a full day circumnavigating Crater Lake. It really is that blue! (and windy!)

We actually dipped into Northern California for a walk amongst some redwoods, then began making our way North. My top advice for anyone considering a trip like this is definitely to book more than one night when you stop. Accommodation is at a premium so we had booked ahead which meant we had to move along to our next reservation every day. We enjoyed jumping out of the car at different spots to snap the beautiful scenery, but if we’d had more time, we would have loved to spend days exploring each place.
By the time we reached Cannon Beach in Northern Oregon, we finally paused and had a really nice time wandering what felt like an endless beach and ocean for miles.
We had a great time and would definitely go back. Our only issue is that we have so many other wonderful places on our bucket list!

ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen. Isn't it one of the most beautiful places ever?
DeleteBeautiful scenery and that beach looks amazing
ReplyDeleteIt really was! My only regret is that we didn't book a longer trip, but we had to get home for a wedding.
DeleteOh, you lucky duck! We love Oregon. We went on our honeymoon over twenty years ago. We spent most of our time in the Willamette Valley drinking wine but also spent some time on the coast (Yachats) and in Eugene for the Oregon Bach Festival. We felt like we'd barely scratched the surface. I'd go back tomorrow given the chance.
ReplyDeleteSame! My husband loved the microbrews and even when the weather was blustery, it was so gorgeous. Really a beautiful, amazing place.
DeleteMicrobreweries! We'll have to check those out on our next trip.
DeleteSounds like a lovely time and good advice on reservations. Wishing you much success on your latest release.
